Creating Course Content...
Creating course content couldn’t be easier.
Each developer account has full access to their course or courses. The following diagram illustrates the structure of OWL’s course content:
 OWL Course Structure
Each course starts off with a course definition. This record defines:
• Course Title and Sub-Title • Maximum days the student has to complete the course • Whether there is a pre and post test • How many questions to include on the pre and post test • Whether the pre and post test include exactly the same questions or a different set of questions.
Each course can have multiple lessons. Each lesson can have multiple pages. You can add as many lessons as you need and as many pages as you wish per lesson. The primary page content is presented in the center section of the training page. The left side of the page can contain as many links to external information or files as you wish. The right side of the page can contain as many "page" links as you need. Lesson links display on every page of the lesson. Page links only show on the individual pages. This structure makes it easy to provide additional information when needed.
Lesson and page links can link to any type of file... HTML, spread sheet, word document, image, multimedia, video, audio, etc. Most of this data will open directly in the browser window making it easy to re-use existing material in your course.
Page content can be created in any HTML editor or word processor program. In most cases all you have to do is copy the information and paste it into our WYSIWYG editor. Or, you can use the provided WYSIWYG editor to create the page content right in the developer interface.
Lesson tests can include as many true / false, multiple choice and exact answer questions as you wish. Course pre and post tests are automatically created from a random selection of all questions for all lessons in the course.
Creating an OWL Course requires only basic computer expertise. Just about anyone who uses a computer at work can create course content. OWL makes it simple and easy to use any combination of existing or new content to create the course material you need.
